Field Methods Course

In this two-week summer course, a diverse set of UCI faculty host a field studies course for UCI graduate students and highly qualified upper division undergraduates interested in learning how to conduct field studies of water resources. Participants will learn an interdisciplinary set of skills used by professionals to monitor water resources including flood risk, aquatic ecology, and wastewater treatment.

Each class will be taught in the field at water treatment plants, marshes, coastal areas, creeks and parks. Participants will learn how to sample different ecological and water quality parameters important to these areas.
